This paper reports on the development and in-service evaluation of an Advanced Anomaly Detection (AAD) system for enhancing the performance of helicopter health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS) through improved analysis of vibration health monitoring data. Potential future enhancements such as data mining and automated reasoning are also explored. This work builds on the work performed on intelligent management of HUMS data reported in CAA Paper 99006.
